Position Description
The Director of Risk Analytics will be responsible for managing United Guaranty’s mortgage insurance portfolio, risk presentations, economic reporting and data analytics.
As an integral part of the risk management team, the constituent will be responsible for managing three analysts in the risk management discipline including mortgage insurance portfolio management function, customer facing risk presentation metrics and design, economic reporting and data analysis. As a working manager you will provide functional insight to the department as well as superior team leadership.
Additional responsibilities include:
Manage a team of three risk analysts and maintain responsibility for delivering
meaningful risk analytics in a timely and accurate manner. The Director will be accountable for maintaining the group’s current work product as well as expanding the depth and breadth of the company’s risk measurements.
Monitor insured mortgage portfolio for risks and opportunities and report same to
management in structured and consistent manner.
Create portfolio risk presentations for United Guaranty management and customers.
The reports will be distributed quarterly and provide lender performance insight to users. Maintain and enhance quarterly economic report that details local market economics and distributed to customers as requested.
Analyze risks to the portfolio from the market (housing prices, interest rate
movements), specific lenders and products and report recommendations to management.
Partner with management in credit, national account and operational risk
management to communicate portfolio concerns that impact their units.
Position Requirements
Master’s Degree or equivalent working experience with emphasis in Finance or Economics preferred.
7-10 years overall work experience with 3–5 years managing a team of analysts.
Advanced skills:
SAS and MS Office products (Excel, Access, Word and Powerpoint). Analytical & Financial skills. Ability to understand insurance policies and technical details of subject matter.
