About the Job

As our Director, Human Resources, you will work closely with the President/CEO and Executive team to design, develop and implement effective people strategies and tactics to support business capability and profitability. Our ideal candidate will take a proactive, hands-on role in shaping the organization, and establishing strategic business plans and long-range goals. Our candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities to gain a competitive advantage in the areas of talent management, organizational development and building a new level of organizational capability. In addition, this position will be responsible for fostering the development of existing management team members, identifying new talent to support the growth of the company and overseeing the day-to-day implementation of policies and procedures in the areas of employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, training and development, and legal compliance to employment laws.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Partner with senior leadership to develop HR strategies and initiatives that support business objectives. Align HR policies, practices and systems to support the organization’s priorities and strategic direction.

Position the company’s HR programs to attract and retain the best talent in key positions.

Monitor competitive trends and identify the organization’s position with regards to Total Rewards.

Formulate and implement employee relations and communication programs to ensure high employee morale, performance and retention.

Manage employee performance by clearly defining goals, job responsibilities, and standards of performance; tracking progress against goals; providing clear, thorough and timely feedback; and addressing performance problems and issues promptly.

Assist managers in developing or maintaining skills necessary to drive high employee performance. Provide assistance to managers in conducting appropriate disciplinary interventions and terminations.

Deliver management training in areas including interviewing, performance management, discipline and policies and procedures.

Develop and manage budgeting and budget execution with a focus on costs and margins.

Administer all necessary compliance programs to ensure adherence to employment law legislation.

Identify technological impact on business processes to ensure maximum advantage in enabling process analysis, decision-making and reporting.


Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or other relevant discipline with 8-10 years of job-related HR experience. Masters degree in Human Resources or related discipline preferred.
