East Coast Business Development Director

Job Description
We have an immediate need for a Director of East Coast Business Development to establish new business opportunities and help increase MicroConstants’ presence in that region of the United States.

Responsibilities:

Actively prospect, identify, and investigate potential new business opportunities in specified region

Establish and cultivate relationships with key decision makers at pharmaceutical and biotech companies to increase market penetration

Maintain high-level working knowledge of MicroConstants' capabilities and services to identify cross-selling opportunities across groups and within accounts

Coordinate with Operations and Project Management teams to ensure that prospective clients’ needs are being met and exceeded during the proposal generation and award stages. Handle all follow-up related to closing of new business and take ownership of each new opportunity.

Maintain a high level of visibility within the territory, including identifying, recommending, and attending industry conferences and events specific to MicroConstants’ niche

Implement innovative sales and marketing strategies to meet sales targets

Maintain and record all relevant sales activities in CRM database (salesforce.com)

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related science field

5+ years of business development and/or bioanalytical/DMPK laboratory experience

Comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical discovery and development process, including regulated bioanalysis, DMPK/ADME assays, and PK studies

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, salesforce.com)

Ability to work independently and travel 50% - 75% of the time

Previous business development experience at a CRO offering bioanalytical and/or DMPK contract research services is a plus
