Electrical & Controls Engineer I, II & III

Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Electrical and Controls Engineer I, II or III to commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is located in Rhinelander, WI and will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Minimum Requirements:
•Bachelors degree in Engineering and 3 years control system hardware and software design experience, Electrical Engineering degree is preferred, other Engineering degrees will be considered if industrial controls experience is persuasive
•Demonstrated interpersonal skills for interfacing with team members and customers
•Strong written and verbal communications skills
•Industrial project management experience
•Field electrical installation & startup experience
•Start to finish PLC application engineering experience, must have written complete applications for PLCs
•Start to finish HMI development experience
•Start to finish electrical control system hardware design experience (control panel and field wiring)
•Competency in Electrical CAD
•Electrical controls equipment specification and procurement experience
•Web handling control system design experience a plus
•Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC)
•Ability to work independently
•Operations or maintenance experience is a plus but not required

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Troubleshooting, tuning/optimizing and developing PM’s for integrated automated processes involving AC and DC drives, servos, PLC, communication networks, HMI’s and PRISM interface
•Process automation upgrades/modification and/or replacement
•Specifying, programming and startup of coordinated drives systems for web handling
•Ground up development of PLC, HMI and Drive System applications
•Design of industrial communication networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, Profibus, Modbus, Devicenet, etc.)
•Design of electrical schematics and control panel layouts using AutoCAD
•Project Management of small and intermediate capital projects, including supervision of contractors and plant maintenance associates during equipment startup
•Working with plant maintenance associates to train and develop necessary electro-mechanical skills to maintain and troubleshoot complex production processes
•Design power distribution to new production equipment
•Develop controls approaches for improving manufacturing processes
