Job Description | Job Summary:
This position is a part of the Plymouth Power and Recovery Maintenance Group and reports to the P&R Maintenance Superintendent. A successful candidate must be able to promote the use of and improvement of reliable methods and continuous improvement as it relates to safety, quality, costs, and production in regards to electrical distribution.
Job Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Manage the mill electrical system including 13.8kv cables, 13.8kv switchgear, unit substations, 480v feeder cables, motor control centers, in house generation from 4 turbine generators, grounding and lightning protection.
2. Manage the quality of the electrical system (power factor, harmonics, and transients).
3. Provide technical expertise and support in the reliability and stability of electrical equipment (load flows, protective device coordination, etc.). Coordinate electrical load additions and electrical power optimization.
4. Participate as a vital part of the area support team (engineering, maintenance, operations, process engineering).
5. Provide support for capital projects including scoping, design, and implementation. Specific duties include developing specification for quotations, and contracts for services, selecting and managing consultants and contractors, spare parts setup, and documentation completion. Involved in root cause failure analysis and troubleshooting of issues.
6. Work with mill electrical and process engineer team to maintain mill compliance with NFPA 70E and Domtar standards including training of craftsmen. Be an active safety role model by setting high expectations of one self and those around them.
7. Part of the evaluation/testing group to qualify incoming electrical craftsmen and progression through the apprentice program. Responsible in maintaining the mills single line electrical drawings.

Your profile :
Education:
-Degree in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis on power distribution preferred
Experience:
-7 years of Electrical Distribution experience.
-Experience in Pulp and Paper electrical power distribution projects.
-Possess planning, prioritizing, problem solving and decision making skills.
-Strong team orientation.
-Possess outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
-Good computer skills around Excel and Autocad.

-Arc Flash Hazard Analysis
