Job Description | Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead projects, with the assistance of peer engineers, to design and test electrical circuit boards and systems within the Capstone MicroTurbine and its accessories
Selection of electronic components for replacement within existing circuit designs
Participate in the fabrication and testing of electronic circuit boards
Generate electronic circuit board schematics using computer-aided design. Ability to review and approve circuit board layouts is desirable
Develop documentation to demonstrate designs meet requirements, provide definition for software programming, and establish test plans and results for design verification and manufacturability
Skills and Abilities Required:
Experience with high speed digital circuit design with microprocessors and DSPs
Experience in logic design and VHDL programming for CPLD and FPGA
Experience in analog circuit design
Knowledge of software design in C and Assembly languages is desirable
Generation of schematic design is required
Knowledge of PCB layout (in PADs) and methods for noise immunity is desirable
Knowledge and experience with electronic component selection
Familiarity with HALT and HASS testing is a desirable
Familiarity of motor drives and power supply design and testing is preferred
Ability to positively contribute within a design and production team involving various technical disciplines
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
Capability to understand and appreciate mechanical engineering, physical, thermodynamic, and chemical principles important in the design and operation of Capstone MicroTurbine system
Education and Experience Required:
BSEE with 1 to 5 years, or MS with 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in electronic design and testing.
Specific experience in the design and testing of electronics within an electrical power generation system is preferred |
