| Job Description | Job Description: This position is responsible for the development, design and implementation of controls systems for custom automated machines developed by Texas Machine-Tool International, LLC. This position contributes significantly to the ability of Texas Machine-Tool International, LLC to develop, design, deliver and support unique manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities:
•Develop and design controls systems for automated custom machines used in manufacturing of custom machines.
•Identify, investigate, conceptualize and prototype novel controls and measurement systems for assembly and inspection processes
•Select, specify and size electrical devices, including PLC, motion control and data acquisition components
•Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, bill of materials and software diagrams
Develop, implement, and troubleshoot controls & automation software (PLC, robot systems, operator interfaces, etc.)
•Release complete electrical design packages and BOM for fabrication and purchase
•Provide plant support as needed, both remotely and on-site, for equipment built by Texas Machine-Tool International, LLC
•Manage own project tasks and activities to meet project schedule and budget goals
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Expertise in electrical controls for automated equipment
•Experience with the development, implementation, troubleshooting of controls software
(PLC, OIT)
•Proven ability to troubleshoot and solve problems with automated equipment in manufacturing facilities
•Knowledge and experience with servo/stepper motor systems, motion control, robots, data acquisition systems
•Knowledge and experience with major hardware and software development
•Knowledge and experience with non-destructive testing technologies (e.g., eddy current, vision)
•Familiarity with the control of automated assembly & inspection equipment
•Fluency with AutoCAD
•Electrical engineering degree (BSEE or MSEE)
•5+ years design experience with electrical controls for automated equipment
•5+ years experience with the development, implementation, troubleshooting of controls software (PLC, OIT) |
