Job Description
Job Summary:

Accountable for developing, improving, and supporting all production processes associated with the launch, manufacture, and test of products in an assigned value stream or product line.

Often works under the direction of a Process Engineer II or III, or Production Managers.

Essential Job Functions:

Provides technical support to assigned manufacturing areas (ie troubleshooting production issues).
Where necessary, will include development and programming of equipment automation such as creation of CNC code, tool path simulation, PLCs, data acquisition software or similar manufacturing equipment control and/or automation systems.
Creates and maintains work instructions for product build (example: SOP, MI, Tool Lists, etc ).
Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing processes while maintaining compliance to design specifications.
Creates and maintains methods, B.O.M.s, labor standards, in ERP system.
Actively participates in C.I., RCCA, PFMEA, and cost reductions / process improvements.
Review, approval and implementation of product design and technical documentation changes related to manufacturing.
Selection, construction (when appropriate), and validation of tooling, fixtures, gages, and equipment.
Work with product engineers / and or program managers to effectively launch product from design to production.
Work flow / cell design with a focus on waste reduction and process improvement.
Technical liaison between work force, suppliers, customers, quality, and design engineers related to manufacturing issues.
Assist as required to maintain compliance to industry standards (AS-9100, NADCAP).
Analysis of manufacturing variances to help identify key areas in need of improvement.

Additional Duties:

Support supply chain and quality with supplier development activities as needed.
Support resolution of supplier quality issues as required.
Support customer/regulatory audits as necessary.
Support customer complaints & concerns within a defined value stream.
Other duties and reporting or projects as required.

Requirements

Education:

Four year degree in engineering required (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or manufacturing preferred) OR 8-10 years of progressive manufacturing job responsibility in lieu of degree.

Required Qualifications:

0-5 years manufacturing or engineering experience.
Hands on troubleshooting & problem solving including statistical analysis.
Excellent technical, written and oral communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of both manual and automated mechanical equipment for tooling, fixtures, and testing preferred
Experience in lean manufacturing preferred
Working knowledge of GD&T preferred
Working knowledge of CAD or CAM software preferred
Working knowledge of ERP (in particular BOM & Method creation & support) preferred.
