Specific Position Requirements:
Skills: Extensive experience with Rockwell products including Factory Talk, ControlLogix, Panelview, etc is required.
Experience: At least 5 years implementing process control and factory automation projects using the latest control system platforms and technology.
Training: Engineering degree strongly preferred. Certifications in Rockwell would be a plus.

Primary Objective/Summary: Provide engineering services by researching, developing, designing and testing electrical components, equipment and systems.

Principal Role, Responsibilities & Key Results Expected:

• Primarily project or task specific in a given engineering discipline of expertise. Generally works as part of a team under the direction of a senior or principal engineer, but capable of working independently as well.

• Demonstrates technical expertise and basic leadership ability and is able to lead the effort in a given project or special portion of a project.

• Provides engineering assistance to other Engineering personnel, in the process of designing new and troubleshooting new and existing electrical, instrument and control systems.

• May direct up CAD personnel and entry level designers at times for specific projects.

• Functions as a member of project teams providing technical input to the team in electrical, instrumentation or systems applications. Participates in conceptualizing, designing, configuring, installing, and start-up of client projects.

• Directs the activities of some client personnel in the use of new techniques or equipment during a site start-up.

• Maintains regular and frequent contacts with his/her counterparts in Engineering when presenting and reviewing progress, data and establishing future project direction. Has occasional contact with support staff personnel and interfaces with client personnel as projects progress.

• Participates as a team member focusing on various initiatives when requested.

• Plans engineering and technical approaches to assignments; Analyze and interpret results of assigned projects

• Applies client or company standards and procedures in all the work that is performed.

• Maintains frequent contact with counterparts to share any information necessary to efficiently complete the project.

• Support the development of technical work scope and specifications for project applications.

• Provides technical assistance during customer presentations.

• Estimate costs of equipment and services for project work-scopes.

• Assists in project planning and scheduling by estimating resource loading and duration of project activities.

• Maintain a high level of technical competency in current technologies, product offerings, and their application.

• Assists other engineers in the development and monitoring of projects.

• Monitors program/project progress and suggests improvements and/or modifications; Contribute towards continual improvement.

• Provide leadership in developing company standard technical documentation, drawings & procedures to ensure project completion and continued operation of complex control systems.

• May participate in other duties as assigned.

• Education/Experience: BS Engineering (EE, ME, ChE) or other technical degree / 2-4 years experience in an engineering environment.

• Knowledge: Process knowledge in general industry; Proficiency in latest PC and technical platforms.

• Analytical/Interpersonal Skills: Effective organizational and communicational skills; Excellent customer presentation skills; Ability to succeed in a team environment; Ability to apply basic theory to practical engineering applications and/or to provide technical guidance as needed; Ability to set individual priorities.

• Physical Demands: Exposure to general industrial and office environments; Available to travel to different business locations.
