Job Description
TITLE: Engineer, Blade Manufacturing, Industrial / Medical

LOCATION: Verona, VA (with relocation)

DIVISION/DEPARTMENT: Operations/Manufacturing, Personna Industrial Division

I. POSITION IN ORGANIZATION

A. Reports to: Engineering Manager – Industrial / Medical

B. Directly supervises: N / A

C. Indirectly supervises: May supervise other specialists as assigned; also
indirectly supervises outside skilled trades and hourly personnel for purposes
of equipment installation, debug, maintenance, training or other operational
needs.

II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for Mechanical, Process, and Manufacturing Engineering related
technical support for assigned areas in production operations. Technically
contributes to project management of improvements in manufacturing equipment,
processes and methods which support the production of existing products and the
introduction of new products. Special emphasis on machines, mechanical devices
and components, engines, machine tools, automated manufacturing equipment and
other mechanically functioning equipment. Participate in and oversee activities
such as design, maintenance, and operation of such equipment to insure
divisional production goal attainment, including quality, service, productivity
and continuous improvement using process knowledge and experience, technical
skills along with Lean Manufacturing tools and methodology. .

III. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Gather field data and prepare engineering analysis and design review of
mechanical equipment and associated processes. Apply statistical methods and
perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and
improved efficiency.

2. Oversee any development and/or design changes, including maintenance and
operation of mechanically functioning equipment.

3. Improve reliability and extends life of all tools and equipment by upgrading
their design to include the latest technology.

4. Manage engineering projects to include preliminary design, life cycle cost
and equipment selections. Coordinate, plan, procure and install capital
equipment and tooling.

5. Works closely with other organizational areas (Production Teams, Corporate
Engineering, Quality Engineering, Marketing, Customer Service, Human Resources
and Accounting) to achieve business plan performance and strategic objectives
within a Lean Manufacturing environment.

6. Assists Production Teams in resolution of process and equipment problems.

7. Coordinates closely with Corporate Engineering on projects and Continuous
Improvement.

8. Works closely with Facilities Engineering to insure all compliance
requirements are maintained.

9. Works closely with Corporate Engineering to insure successful new product
introductions and installation of new equipment/processes is coordinated.

10.Heavy emphasis on training personnel and documentation of processes to insure
knowledge and skills of team and operators support Energizer – Personna
Industrial objectives.

11.Plays a leadership role in continuous improvement efforts and activities,
focusing on all areas of quality, cost reduction, safety, as well as internal
and external customer service.

12.Perform other duties as assigned.


IV. RELATIONSHIPS

A. Internal: Management, Department Supervision, Engineering, All personnel
within Energizer

B. External: Vendors, Consultants, Customers, Service Groups, Outside Auditors
and Inspectors

QUALIFICATIONS

I. EDUCATION
B.S. Engineering degree

II. EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three years manufacturing engineering or product engineering
experience.

III. SKILL
Demonstrated technical skills in one or more of Personna Industrial process
environments (i.e. stamping/perforating/heat treating, coating
processes/grinding) particularly with respect to metal processing.

Good communication and training skills are required.

IV. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Computer Assisted Design (CAD) Proficiency.

Proven experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques are an asset.

Review Material Data Sheet instructions before working with any chemical
product.

Candidates must be authorized to work full time in the U.S. for other than
practical training purposes. Relocation available.

PREFERRED SKILLS: Ability to simultaneously execute multiple assignments.
Problem solving. Project management. Effective written and verbal communication.
