JOB DESCRIPTION:
Seeking a seasoned and accomplished engineering professional with extensive and current hands-on experience in aggressively managing capital budgets up to $50 million dollars. Successful and skilled in communication, managing and negotiating with all levels of plant and corporate: operations, management, finance, QA, RD, tech services, vendors, contractors and integrators.
JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY:
This job position’s primary responsibility is to: •Effectively manage dairy and plant-based beverages’ capital improvement projects up to $50 million dollars
•Interface with all levels of plant and corporate personnel, contractors, suppliers, marketing, R&D, QA and legal departments
•Practice sound technical, communication and negotiation skills that ensure the successful implementation project scope and budget
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management: •Effectively interface with multiple cross functional teams including corporate marketing, finance, QA, R & D and with all levels of plant personal
•Prepare and manage the request for proposal (RFP) process
•Develop relationships and actions plans with plant managers, maintenance personnel and operators to provide input in the design and implementation of capital projects seamlessly into production
•Negotiate contracts, performance guarantees, payment terms, and cost sharing with contractors and internal legal department. Monitor contract compliance throughout project life cycle
•Responsible for the overall project budget inclusive of managing accurate cash flow through purchase orders and invoice receiving using SAP
•Must practice proven decision making skills, working effectively under pressure and possessing the integrity to make the right decisions
•Utilize contracted resources to ensure the correct expertise is fully utilized to achieve project scope
•Effective in delegating project tasks ensuring that key project initiatives/objectives, scope, budget and timelines are uninterrupted and met
• Travel required up to 65% or as required by the project’s success and schedule
Engineering/Technical: •Solid engineering technical base refined with extensive corporate and plant experience
•Strong knowledge of plant operations, utilities, maintenance, dairy processing, batching, packaging lines, and building construction
•Possess an intuitive, common sense approach to addressing technical opportunities
•Facilitate feasibility studies, plant impact studies, the completion of concept layouts and capital estimates
•Develop long term engineering strategies including plant layouts, equipment standards, packaging line layouts, and utility infrastructure
•Ability to analyze, compare, and recommend engineering proposals

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:
•Strong engineering skills with mechanical/electrical/controls aptitude
•Seasoned, problem solver with conflict management skills
•Fast learner and quickly adapts to change
•Assimilator of on-time correct information in order to determine the best solution(s). Flexible to consider additional information or ideas leading to a better or best solution(s)
•Must be highly self-directed and able to work independently as well as part of a team
•Must be exceptionally organized and self-disciplined to accommodate the management of concurrent multiple projects
•Solid understanding of food safety regulations – PMO, 3A and FDA Food Safety knowledge / experience a plus
•Proficient in defining project scope and translating it into the RFP process
•Must have fully developed written and presentation skills
•Must possess and practice positive, succinct communication and interpersonal skills
•Understand the essential value of engaging and actively communicating appropriate information to all levels involved with and/or affected by the project
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor of Science degree in engineering discipline from accredited college or university
•Minimum five (5) to seven (7) years engineering project management experience required, preferably in CPG beverage/food manufacturing
•PMP certification a plus
