| Job Description | Scientific Drilling is looking for an Engineering Technician III to work at our Applied Technologies Center in Paso Robles, CA. Nestled between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the California Central Coast is the location described as ""the happiest place on earth"". Home to where others like to vacation, the Central Coast offers the fastest growing wine region in California, fresh coastal air, miles of beautiful beaches protected through the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, and small town appeal. Responsibilities:
•Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems, applying principles and theories of engineering.
•Test and troubleshoot electronics according to written procedures.
•Write failure reports or record data on testing techniques, equipment, or specifications to assist engineers.
•Use multimeters and oscilloscopes to measure amperage, voltage, waveform, electrical output and input at specific operating temperature to analyze parts performance.
•Read dials and meters to determine amperage, voltage, electrical output and input at specific operating temperature to analyze parts performance.
•Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning components, using hand tools or soldering iron.
Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or GED
•Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent related work experience.
•8+ years of experience in electronics and test diagnosis.
•Must be able to identify electronic components on schematics and circuit boards.
•Must understand common electronic concepts such as current, voltage, resistance, and Ohm's law.
•Strong knowledge of Word and Excel.
Preferred Skills:
•Ability to use correct soldering techniques is a plus.
•Previous experience in the armed forces/US military working on electronics or navigational systems a plus. |
