| Job Description | NEFCO Fire Investigations is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a background in Electrical Engineering in Central New Jersey. Our ideal candidate would preferably have worked with a utility company in power distribution, or as a foreman or regional engineer for power distribution power systems as well as having practical experience with electrical wiring in both commercial and residential settings. Candidate’s who have an active PE, but are in fact retired, are encouraged to apply.
NEFCO employs 42 fire investigators throughout New England, the mid-Atlantic and South and is the largest fire investigation company in the region. NEFCO’s corporate headquarters are located in Rochester, NH.
The electrical engineer will work along with fire investigators in the field to conduct failure analysis to assist in determining the cause of fires. Analysis will be conducted on fire scenes in residential and commercial structures as well as on heavy equipment, automobiles and with individual electrical components, wiring in a lab setting, etc. Travel will be primarily within NJ, PA, DE, NY, and CT.
Candidates must possess a minimum of a PE and a BSEE or BSET. Candidates with practical experience with electrical wiring in a commercial or residential setting and/or fire fighting are encouraged to apply.
