Develop soft chew formulations for veterinary supplements
Assist in sourcing excipients or active ingredients to be used in formulation
Produce product prototypes and trial batches in compliance with established procedures
Work with operations to transition formula from lab-scale batches to full-scale production
Work with operations to improve/optimize existing product formulas as needed
Provide input into early-stage product concepts
Evaluate potential ingredients and formulas for manufacturability
Produce and maintain accurate records of all product development activities (pilot non-commercial batch production), including formulas and pilot batch records
Maintain awareness of new developments in ingredients, dosage forms, and other related topics and share with the team when relevant
Work with operations to evaluate equipment requirements for pilot-scale production
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in formulation/manufacturing of soft chews or related products, including dough, confectionery, or pet treats (animal feed/animal health a plus)
Experience in a cGMP environment with understanding of cGMP principles and requirements
Experience working as part of a crossfunctional team
Knowledge of animal feed regulations a plus
Skills:
Experience working with soft chew (or similar) dosage forms
Creativity and strong problem-solving ability
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organization skills
Education:
BS/BA in chemistry, food science, life sciences, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience |
