The primary purpose for this position is to provide leadership, strategy, focus and direction to ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials and service to Electrochem in a timely, quality conscious and cost effective manner. This includes: supply chain management, procurement, and interface with demand planning and master scheduling.



Essential Job Functions:

Develop a strong commodity based procurement team for the total Electrochem business and provide leadership and direction to support the company’s strategic objectives

Develop a global supply chain strategy that supports and enhances the go to market strategy, has significant impact on profitability, and increases the total value proposition of the business

Leverage the total Electrochem supply chain to ensure security of supply, reduce lead time and reduce cost.

Develops executive level relationships and strategic supply agreements with critical component suppliers to ensure strong positioning around technology, communication of obsolescence and priority service.

Manages financial budget for materials cost centers including performance to plan, budgeting and ensuring business goals and strategic objectives are met.

Develops, manages and incorporates material systems best practices including lean initiatives across the business, continuously improves communication and provides supply chain expertise to all functions in the business.

Manages performance to relevant metrics including inventory turns, ppv, on time delivery

Provides expertise and ongoing communication to the VP of Operations in support of
Business Goals and the Strategic Business Plan

Collaborates effectively with other members of the Business Leadership Team

Adheres to GB Core Beliefs and all safety and quality requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s in Materials Management or Business (required) Masters (preferred)

Minimum Experience: 15+ years experience in increasingly demanding positions and scope including managing multiple organizations in different geographies

Specialized Knowledge: Supply Chain Management, Contract Negotiations, Lean principles and methodologies; Strong communication skills (verbal and written); Revenue of $160 to $250M business. Responsible for all procurement representing over $80M in direct material spend across the business including Asian based supply chain and 3PL organizations.
