Job Description | The HR Manager reports to the Controller and is responsible for managing, developing and directing the HR function for approximately 100 employees working in multiple states. This position provides oversight and expertise for all HR processes including hiring, compensation, performance management, employee relations, employee development, policies and procedures, employment law and compliance, retention, turnover, and benefits administration, as well as payroll processing. This position interfaces with senior-level management which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.
Responsibilities and Duties
Partner with management to define and execute an HR strategy that promotes fulfillment of business objectives and recruitment/retention of quality employees. Develop programs to allow the company to embrace applicants and employees of all backgrounds and to permit the full development and performance of employees.
Participate in the development, implementation, coordination and training of HR practices, policies and procedures while assuring adherence to state, federal and other employment law statutory guidelines. Protect the interests of the organization and the employee in accordance with appropriate governmental laws and regulations such as EEO, OSHA, ERISA, ADA, etc.
Coordinate recruitment, selection and hiring of all new employees; conduct new employee orientations. Provide leadership and assistance with employee career development and succession planning.
Manage the day-to-day benefits administration and communication of all company benefit programs and act as the primary contact for employee benefit-related issues.
Coordinate annual benefit program renewals with insurance broker.
Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within the organization.
Facilitate the resolution of problems which arise out of or affect work situations, productivity, morale or general work environment.
Continually access the competitiveness of compensation programs and practices against relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
Process termination paperwork, conduct exit interviews and submit timely notification to COBRA vendor.
Supervise one direct report who is responsible for payroll processing, including time and labor management, record-keeping and reporting. |
