Job Description | SUMMARY: Work on CT scanners to create production ready codes in the fields of medical imaging and digital signal processing. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining the existing algorithms, implementing new product features, addressing component obsolescence, and managing product releases.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
Image Processing/Digital Signal Processing
o Participate in the development and implementation of CT image generation methods, including data corrections, image reconstruction, and image processing of algorithms
o Prototype advanced image processing algorithms around image reconstruction, registration, rectification, video stabilization, object recognition
o Develop production-grade software implementations of image processing algorithms
o Tune image processing algorithms to enhance image quality
o Document algorithms & software for internal and external customers
o Optimize implementations to provide high-performance processing when deployed on our image processing clusters
o Responsible for the design and analysis of novel imaging platforms and applications
o Develop and maintain reconstruction software within current and future products
o Participate in integration of new Computed Tomography (CT) scanner systems
§ Collect and analyze data
§ Write software for data analysis
§ Design experiments for testing algorithms and features
§ Document test results
o Keep abreast of new developments in real-time medical imaging and 3D display technology, serving as an expert in this area
o Routinely present reports to engineering staff and management
o Design suitable solutions to complex problems
o Significant role in the design, development, integration, and documentation of production systems as part of multidisciplinary project teams of scientists and engineers
· Provide Technical expertise to Customer Service and Customers as needed
· Work individually with minimal supervision and as part of team of engineers, senior scientists, and algorithm developers
· Keep knowledge of all products up-to-date
· Attend/complete all required trainings
· Follow all company policies regarding travel, expenses, meetings, and meals
· Manage time effectively; prioritize and make good business judgments and decisions in relationship to efficiency, effectiveness
· Required to wear dosimeter when in direct contact with radiation emitting devices

Education & Experience
· Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required, Ph.D. preferred
· Minimum 3 years of experience in Digital Signal and Image processing required, including creating production ready codes; Knowledge in CT and SPECT imaging systems is a plus
· Some experience in radiation safety and medical physics is highly desirable
· Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write design documents and test plans

Computer & Analytic skills
· Programming Experience in: Windows, Linux, C or C++
· Must be able to assemble facts from various areas, analyze data, and provide informed recommendations to management
· Must be able to work with minimal supervision, take charge of projects, and work effectively in a demanding, fast paced environment
· Able to read existing codes and write documentations
· Able to communicate effectively with senior scientists and algorithm developers and interface with the customers and other engineers as needed
· Able to provide and perform test protocols for new and existing image quality algorithms
· Must be excellent with technology, be able to present using a laptop computer, and be able demonstrate proficiency with MS Office package, including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint; as well as Outlook and Internet Explorer
Physical requirements
· Regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
· Frequently required to sit at desk for long periods of time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
· Interaction with x-ray devices; for this reason strict safety and tracking programs are in place, requiring the utilization of dose monitoring equipment either full time or as necessitated by situation
· The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
