Job Description | Summary:
Will work on Implanters: Varian E500, VIISION V80, Kestrel 650, Axcellis GSD HE. May also work on other Implanters: AMAT High Current Implanters 9500, XR80, XR 80 Leap 2, and Quantum III. Varian field service engineering experience a plus and/or electrical engineering or Physics background. Hands-on electronics experience necessary. Understands the use of common electrical test equipment (i.e. DVM, Oscilloscope). Small signal and high voltage experience a must. Needs to be a team-oriented person with an aggressive enough personality to be able to build rapport with a senior technician group. Needs to be able to interface with Process Engineering and understand Implanter applications. Semiconductor background necessary. Needs to be flexible and willing to take on all jobs including ordering parts, second sourcing, and interfacing with outside vendors. Must be flexible to work any shift including the compressed work week schedule.
Responsibilities:
Support and be involved with troubleshooting, maintaining and improving Implanters and RTP equipment, components and assemblies; will assist with all tasks related and assigned to the equipment group. Must be willing to learn new responsibilities as required. Must demonstrate teamwork and ability to deal with issues and concerns across shifts with different types of technicians, engineers and managers in a professional and constructive manner. Also need the ability to maintain a positive attitude under high pressure work situations.
Will be responsible for and have the authority to
Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process or quality system
Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities
Initiate, recommend and provide solutions, verify implementation of solutions and control further processing or delivery until the deficiency has been corrected
Support the maintenance group responsible for the Hi-Vac equipment (Implanters, RTP etc)
Support control of area budget
Perform equipment calibration
Implement/maintain certification programs
Implement continuous improvement programs to improve tool reliability and availability
Participate on Emergency Response Team
Will also be responsible for tool installation, hook-up and acceptance as applicable. Will evaluate and recommend future equipment purchase, support department goals, and become certified on a variety of tool types. Support and maintain spare parts inventory as well as parts rebuild needs when necessary.
Requirements:
Experience and motivation to learn and take responsibility for any equipment
Proven ability to initiate component level PCB repairs
Ability to trace system level failures between subsystems and quickly isolate the root cause failure
Reliable, punctual, absolutely detail oriented; mechanically inclined; can work under pressure
Proficient in electronics and electrical concepts
Ability to meet physical requirements of the post offer, pre-employment physical and ERT physical
Education/Experience:
AS degree in electronics or related field of study
Minimum 5 years of related experience working with Implant tools in a semiconductor Fab
Ability to work in the U.S. long-term is required as sponsorship is not available for this position. |
