Job Description
Position Title: Import/Export Analyst

Position Classification: Salary Exempt

Position Status: Full-Time

Functional Area: Compliance

Reports To: Compliance Manager/Director, International Trade Compliance

Duty Location: Mooresville, NC

Hazardous Duty: No

Travel Required: Less than 25%

This position is located in the Corporate Division of IOMAX USA, Inc. in Mooresville, NC. The Import/Export Analyst manages all shipping documents and product classification by ensuring all shipping records related to the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) are properly logged, digitized and stored. The Analyst conducts and maintains the import/export activities associated with U.S. government approved licenses, such as product classifications and record keeping associated with export license applications. This position relies on relevant experience and sound judgment to ensure achievement of corporate business objectives and operational goals. The Analyst must be independent and objective, with an ability to stay organized under demanding circumstances. This position requires excellent communication and research skills. A high degree of creativity and initiative is expected.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Lead Compliance Administrator for international shipments; provides Compliance review of shipping documents and regulatory processes (such as Customs regulations, bonds)

• Determines if commodities are subject to the ITAR or EAR and obtains the corresponding Schedule B and Harmonized Tariff Code.

• Files AES for shipments when needed.

• Reviews Customs documents (ex. 7501 / 3461) and AES filings for accuracy and compliance with the applicable regulations.

• Creates, maintains and updates the shipment (exports and imports) and product classification records.

• With direction from the Empowered Official, determines licensing needs and/or suitability of exceptions/exemptions based upon commodity product classification.

• Assists in preparing and maintaining End-use Statements and records.

• Conducts annual record keeping audits and international shipping audits as needed.

• Aids the Empowered Official and Compliance Manager as needed.

• Other responsibilities and duties as may be assigned
Qualifications
• A bachelor's degree and/or at least 2-3 years of experience in the field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Knowledge of EAR, ITAR, OFAC, BATFE, ATF, U.S. Customs regulations, FCPA, and anti-boycott requirements.

• Experience with compliance functions in two or more of the U.S. cross-regulatory regimes.

• Excellent team building skills.

• Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.

• Excellent social skills and flexibility.

• A proven track record of excellence in Import/Export compliance administration.

• Proven ability to multi-task.

• Advanced PC knowledge in Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Word.

• Solution oriented—ability to find the compliant ‘yes’ instead of the easy ‘no.’
