The primary responsibilities of this position are to assist the Director of Compliance in tasks that support the day to day import and exports of the business as well as the Import/Export Trade Compliance program and its processes.
Candidate will apply working knowledge of laws and regulations, provide guidance to internal and external customers regarding the import and/or export of products. Perform internal audits on import and export transactions and report gap/risk analysis and corrective activities. Additional scope of responsibilities include, but not limited to: Serve as a liaison across departmental lines and business units on the subject of ECCN (Export Control Classification Number), HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classifications, FTA (Free Trade Agreements) and other import/export functions as necessary.
Requirements
Thorough knowledge of global trade regulations. (International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) including anti-boycott regulations, sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customs Regulations (CR), Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), and the Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR).)
Must have the ability to become Empower Official (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)
High ethical standards, demonstrated success in applying independent judgment, strong project development and management skills.
Analyze and interpret export and import regulations and maintain current knowledge of changes
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and SAP.
Detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
BA / BS College Degree in Business, Compliance, Logistics or Supply Chain Management
Minimum 3-5 years experience in Import/Export/Global Trade Compliance environment.
Certified Classification Specialist (CCLS) and Import Broker License are preferred
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
• Familiarity with export requirements for both hardware and software a plus |
