| Job Description | Halla Visteon Climate Control Corporation (HVCC) is seeking an Injection Molding Tooling and Process Engineer. HVCC is a majority-owned subsidiary of Visteon Corporation, and a full-line automotive supplier of climate systems and components. This position is located at the Grace Lake Corporate Center, Van Buren Twp., Michigan.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Primary technical resource/authority in Climate Manufacturing Engineering Group for injection molding tooling and technology.
· Interface with Product Development on Design for Manufacturing features for HVAC and Heat Exchanger (HEX).
· Lead molding process development and coordinate source selection for HVAC / HEX programs using standardized global processes.
· Develop specifications and lead equipment selection, installation, launch, service and training.
· Lead process design for molding operations interface with assembly.
· Participate in capacity planning exercises.
· Participate in and support internal business case pursuit studies for HVAC / HEX quotes and sourcing.
· Support pre-production and PPAP builds as required.
· Design equipment and modifications taking into consideration the function, safety and ergonomics, reliability/maintainability and economics required using standardized global processes and equipment.
· Support all documentation requirements including PFMEA, Control Plans, and HVPDS.
· Coordinate all injection mold process design for HVAC and HEX injection molding, and required validation testing.
· Develop launch budgets and plans.
· Develop and maintain current process state and flow maps
Requirements
YEARS EXPERIENCE:
· 3-5 years relevant experience in in plastic injection molding
DEGREE STRONGLY PREFERRED:
· Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
DESIRED COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE:
· Experience with and detailed knowledge of all processes and equipment related to HVAC / HEX injection molding and assembly.
· Thorough application-ready knowledge of:
o Advanced thermodynamic control of injection molding tooling
o Impact of tool cooling on molded part tolerances and warpage
o Interpretation and implementation of mold flow analysis results
o Lean manufacturing principles and disciplines
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to interface effectively with product development, manufacturing locations, and equipment and tooling suppliers.
· Spanish, Portuguese, or Korean language skills a plus
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (i.e. Overtime, Travel, etc.):
· Position may require travel one week per month potentially including worldwide |
