Position Summary: The International Trade Specialist is a member of the Supply Chain team and works with Import/Export management. This individual seeks cooperation from and provides direction to the compliance liaisons from the various business units. The candidate must be diligent in adhering to procedures, focused on producing high quality work while being comfortable working in a challenging, fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
The International Trade Specialist will report to the International Trade Manager and may be assigned to different projects as needed. They will keep up to date on changing procedures and processes that have an impact on Import/Export operations and will recommend business processes to help support global trade management.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field required
Experience of 1 to 3 years in Import/Export compliance
Knowledge of US Customs and BIS Import/Export regulations; other country regulations a plus
Strong background in HTS and ECCN classifications
Experience in COO determinations and Marking regulations
Working knowledge of NAFTA and other FTA programs preferred
Knowledge of international freight and HAZ MAT preferred
Experience with AES filings preferred
Ability to work well with internal customers, governmental agencies, freight forwarders and customs brokers
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with an ability to communicate at all
levels within the organization
Proven analytical, problem solving and decision making abilities
Self-motivated, detail oriented and has the ability to perform in a fast paced work environment
Ability to travel (minimal)
Authorized to work in the USA
Required Experience
Responsibilities:
Assign appropriate HTS and ECCN codes to finished goods, manufacturing components and capital equipment
Determine the country of origin for all materials and equipment and upon request give guidance on Marking requirements per 19 CFR to various departments
Identify Other Government Authorities associated with all materials and equipment according to various regulations that impact our business (TSCA, FCC, ADD/CVD)
Prepare export license applications (SNAP-R) and other required reports for submission to US Government agencies
Monitor compliance with export license’s terms and conditions
Maintain and ensure record keeping requirements per government regulations and includes
Systems databases
Support duty drawback program
Monitor international trade agreement opportunities and compliance
Create and document processes to support U.S. Customs programs and intiatives, such as 10+2, C-TPAT, and duty drawback
Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations on Imports, and ITAR or BIS regulations on Exports, including order processing, recordkeeping, auditing, monitoring and screening
Assist in the preparation of responses to all Custom’s inquires in conjunction with legal
Monitor regulatory and legislative changes
Implement and manage all Customs and Border Protection programs and corporate security programs
Support training on Import/Export compliance issues
Maintain/update the trade compliance policy/operational procedures
Make recommendations regarding trade compliance strategies
Other duties as required
