Job Description

Cobolt Inc is expanding its sales team with an additional Key Account Manager. Cobolt Inc is the US sales office of Cobolt AB, based in Stockholm, Sweden. Cobolt develops, manufactures and markets compact high performance lasers used in bioinstrumentation, analytical chemistry, particle analysis, semiconductor metrology and gas sensing. Cobolt is a privately held company, established in 2000 as a spin-off from the Royal Institute of Technology. The company is experiencing strong growth and has delivered several years of consistent profitability. Cobolt Inc. was established in March 2013 to support an increasing level of OEM business and sales of customized solutions in the US market.

The successful candidate will join a growing sales team dedicated to building long term customer relationships, providing knowledgeable technical support and delivering exceptional customer service. As Key Account Manager you will be responsible for supporting and developing selected OEM business relations across the US market.

In addition to selected key account responsibilities, the successful candidate will also take on world-wide business development responsibilities for a new family of nanosecond pulsed lasers and or mid-IR lasers. These product lines are targeting applications in bioinstrumentation, LIDAR, micromachining and gas sensing. Previous experience from sales or product line management of similar products or related market segments will therefore be a strong plus.

Job Requirements
?Sales of high performance lasers to new customers as well as established key accounts in the U.S.
?Cultivate high quality relationships with new customers through value added consultative selling and after sales service
?Provide first line technical customer support by developing detailed knowledge of Cobolt’s products and how they perform in common customer applications.
?Act as the liaison with engineering team in Sweden for more complex customer technical issues, including managing timeliness and quality of communication flow
?Execute and monitor sales order process from inquiry to quotation through order fulfillment.
?Develop and negotiate customer specific requirements (specifications, delivery and price) and effectively communicate these to Cobolt sales management, engineer and manufacturing.
?Maintain sales forecasts, attend trade conferences and exhibitions and travel to customer sites as required
?30-50% travel within North America and occasional international travel
?Perform analysis of markets for pulsed and/or midIR lasers, interact directly with management team and engineering team in Sweden for technical documentation and further development of given product line(s), develop application notes and provide technical support to sales team in Sweden and distributors world-wide

?Formal technical education and some hands-on experience in photonics related technologies and applications

Education and Work Experience
?Minimum B.Sc. or B.A. in science or technology. Advanced degree preferred.
?Hands-on photonics experience at work or during education
?Experience in photonics sales or product management required with specific experience in ns-pulsed lasers and/or midIR laser sources strongly preferred.
