Interprets and develops an implementation strategy for all Statutory and GAAP pronouncements.
Provides assistance in the coordination of all financial statement analysis.
Responsible for the integration of a consistent financial platform among all subsidiaries.
Maintains SAP to GAAP reconciliation.
Develops and implements appropriate accounting for newly formed or acquired entities.
Develops policies and procedures for US GAAP reporting according to the latest guidance available.
Prepares GAAP financial statements including supporting schedules, oversees monthly close, and is responsible for quarterly and annual reporting.
Works with all subsidiaries to insure uniformity and consistency in financial reporting.
Oversees a common chart of accounts and common accounts payable vendor list.
Maintains and enhances the Economic Capital Model as well as other aspects of the Enterprise Risk Management program.
Assists in the annual audit process including preparation of audited financial statements, footnotes and supporting schedules.
Assists with technical specifications and technology requirements for maintaining an integrated platform.
Other Duties and special projects as assigned.
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting or related field, plus a minimum of 4 years related experience and/or training in insurance accounting or insurance public accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CPA or advanced degree a plus.
Experience and complete understanding of Statutory accounting principles {SAP} as well as US GAAP.
Experience with Statutory financial exams.
Familiarity with Property Casualty Insurance.
Ability to research and resolving complex issues.
Proficient in Excel and exposure to general ledger packages and report writing applications required. |
