Position Summary:

The Lean Manufacturing Engineer will lead and deploy Operational Excellence best practices throughout the Havre de Grace manufacturing organization by supporting continuous improvement initiatives, improving manufacturing processes and reducing costs. Will provide expertise, mentoring and direction for improvement activities to support manufacturing goals and objectives of Constar.

Responsibilities Summary:


Leading, facilitating, executing and managing projects to deliver significant cost saving by deploying Lean, Six Sigma and WCP tools and methodologies.

Partner with management to develop a portfolio of continuous improvement projects.

Serve as a Lean/Six Sigma technical content expert to build process improvement knowledge.

Identify, recommend, and / or lead manufacturing process improvements by applying continuous improvement principles.

Train and mentor teams to drive improvement initiatives

Perform other assignments as required.

Education/Skill Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Engineering, Six Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt or Lean Master Certification.

At least 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment; a minimum of 5 years in world class performance principles

Proficient in contemporary lean manufacturing tools, such as Value Stream Mapping, Workflow Optimization, Root Cause Analysis

Must be a proven team leader.

Demonstrated ability to implement new techniques and continuous improvement programs at all levels of manufacturing operations.


Analytical approach to problem solving, including advance problem solving techniques (Shainin, DOE, etc.)


Facilitation, negotiation and conflict management skills are a must.

Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project knowledgeable


Experience in PET bottle manufacturing is an advantage
