| Job Description | Kongsberg Automotive - Fluid Transfer Systems, is a global manufacturer specializing in hose, tubing and accessories for automotive and industrial market applications.
Summary of Duties:
This position will be responsible for technical support and sustaining engineering in various process areas. A key aspect of this position will be the development and/or validation of new materials, equipment and processes required to support existing products.
Successful candidate will be a self-starter who will get involved with the manufacturing process and use sound engineering principles to drive improvements with minimal direction.
Requirements of Position:
Development and continuous improvement of Melt Extrusion processes for automotive and industrial hoses and tubes.
Collect appropriate data and use it to drive improvement in utilization, productivity, quality, scrap, and cost.
Work directly ""hands-on"" with the manufacturing team and processes to plan and implement improvements in a timely manner.
Clearly communicate data up and down the organization.
Work with vendors to determine project specifications and arrange for purchase and implementation of new equipment and tooling.
Work with design team to develop new manufacturing processes and assist with the development of new melt extruded tube products.
Support lean initiatives throughout the organization.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Minimum Competencies Required
BS Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (Materials and Engineering Technology will also be considered)
1 - 3 years experience in a ""hands-on"" plastic extrusion environment.
Effective communication skills – both orally and written; must be comfortable communicating with all levels within the organization from management to floor personnel.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Automotive experience is a plus.
Strong computer skills are required for basic applications with CAD knowledge a plus.
