Job Description
Prime Responsibilities and Major Factors in Evaluating Performance:
1. Develop economical and effective process operations, methods and instructions for the production of a wide variety of investment castings.
2. Manage and develop a cohesive and effective group of production personnel working toward a set of common goals and expectations.
3. Responsible for cost reduction leadership and for the manufacturing portion of overall plant scrap. Will design, implement, and drive programs for continuous improvement.
4. Manages assigned manufacturing location to ensure that volume, cost, and quality standards are achieved.
5. Manages the activities of production personnel including workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
6. Responsible for managing the repair, replacement and maintenance of existing facility assets as well as the integration of new assets.
7. Assists with planning and directing the layout of equipment.
8. Ensures production follows appropriate workflow and assembly methods.
9. Hires, schedules and trains production staff.
10. Ensures manufacturing performance and quality goals are met.
11. Ensures physical and workforce resources are adequate to meet the organization's production schedule.
12. Maintain departmental costs within budget.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Develop and train personnel to improve technical skills. Hold subordinates accountable to standards of performance in meeting schedules for customer samples and production requirements.
2. Prepare and maintain all related files, records, reports, part prints and statistics in useable forms for processing, and other purposes.
3. Maintain all required contacts to keep abreast of developments in production engineering and make recommendations as to adoption of feasible items.
4. Conduct performance appraisals of subordinates and provide feedback on career development.
5. Contribute to key technical decisions and technology/product planning. Maintain knowledge in current and/or new engineering methods and developments affecting the organization.
6. Ensure that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with the Company’s Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or business discipline.
Ten or more years of related manufacturing experience with 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role.
