Manufacturing Engineer - 3D Printing

Job Description
PADT is currently seeking a full-time Manufacturing Engineer for our Manufacturing Technologies - Rapid Prototyping group. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning and executing 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing processes for customer projects. This person serves as the expert on the extensive range of 3D printing services offered by PADT. The engineer in this position also provides technical support to the 3D printer sales team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, evaluate, and improve 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing processes and procedures using various 3D printing technologies.
Interface with internal and external customers to understand specific project requirements and determine suitable processes and workflow.
Provides budgetary and lead-time estimates for each project.
Processes printing jobs to meet customer requirements. Communicate post processing requirements with technicians to ensure parts are finished properly.
Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Provide technical support including; demonstrations, benchmarks, technical presentations, and training for the sale of 3D printers.
Interface with printer manufacturers, material suppliers and service providers to keep the printers in good operating condition.
Keep abreast of the latest 3D Printing technologies, material development and Additive Manufacturing applications and make recommendations to keep advancing and improving PADT's 3D printing capabilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution is required.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, including characteristics, GD & T symbols, specifications and process requirements.
Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
Proficient in 3D Solid Modeling CAD tool.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with manual and CNC machine tools, a plus.
Experience in 3D printing processes and materials, a plus
