Job Description | Design, implement and improve manufacturing processes to produce cost effective quality products. Work with Engineering to ensure efficient transfer of product design to manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Use principles and theories of science, engineering, and mathematics to solve technical problems.
Assist engineers, or under the direction of engineering dept, design, develop, test and manufacture fixtures, gaging products, and other tools.
Able to design fixtures/ gages for production process improvement
Assist with the development and completion of product tests.
Assist with development of FMEA and PFMEA
Sets up and conducts tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control.
Reviews project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, and equipment.
Analyzes test results in relation to specifications and test objectives and modify or adjust equipment to meet specifications.
Make sketches and rough layouts, record data, make computations, analyze results, and write reports.
Prepare layouts and drawings of the assembly process including process flow diagrams and control charts.
Estimate and help track labor costs.
Test and inspect equipment in manufacturing departments and work with engineers to eliminate production problems.
Helps develop equipment in manufacturing departments where required
Maintains production equipment in good working order and ensure requisite equipment is calibrated and calibration is properly documented.

Requirements Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree required preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques preferred, Computer skills: SolidWorks CAD, Auto CAD, Word, Excel, process improvement skills, basic costing skills. Thorough understanding of manufacturing engineering disciplines with emphasis on college courses in science, engineering and mathematics. Able to review and check BOM structures and production routers set-up by Document specialists
Able to create BOM structures and production routers when required
Able to excel in time management to handle multiple given tasks
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
Working Knowledge of machine theory
