Description:
The purpose of this position is to support the endoscope manufacturing departments by providing engineering support to assembly and repair areas, to devise engineering solutions to assembly problems, and to help introduce new products and processes to the endoscope assembly and repair areas.




Determine from engineering data what part drawings and operations are necessary for the assembly and repair of complex medical products, plan the sequence of operations, estimate the time required for each, and write operation sheets.

Oversee implementation of new or improved manufacturing methods, standards, testing, procedures, tools, and equipment designs to improve operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and achieve the most economic manufacture of products.

Maintain assembly and repair records for all endoscope products.

Train assembly and repair personnel.

Investigate possible labor and or component cost reductions.

Identify and develop assembly tooling.

Coordinate activities of assembly or technical group by monitoring, output, quality and job skills and take action when warranted.

Evaluate changes in products per organizational risk management practices to ensure effective, safe and compliant devices are released to the market in accordance with current state and federal standards.

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with five years experience dealing with the manufacture of intricate medical instruments and fiber optics.

Organized self-starter.

Excellent communication skills.

Knowledge of ISO & Lean manufacturing.

Experience working with computer based manufacturing systems.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Knowledge of laser welding and ability to operate machine shop equipment a plus.

Demonstrate the people and organizational skills required to lead others.

Must be able to maintain productive working relationships with co-workers.

Must treat fellow employees with respect.

Must communicate verbally and in writing with all employees—management to subordinates—and contact vendors in order to relay requirements.

Must document all work and testing performed.

Must be able to transfer thoughts into words to create clear and informative assembly documentation.

Individual must daily inform coworker of any concerns, changes or production issues, daily communicate with management relaying problems or concerns and interface with other departments to facilitate producing products.

Must be able to interface with many different personalities with in the endoscope groups.
