Metters Incorporated has an immediate need for a Manufacturing Engineer to support our Manufacturing, Simulation and Training Division in our office in Orlando, FL.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Works under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
•Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant: Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
•Creates manufacturing resource, workflow and process plans and ensures their effective execution.
•Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
•Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
•Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
•Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
•Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
•Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
•Provides technical support to production work in process.
•Reads and interprets contractual requirements as they apply to manufacturing process.
Qualifications:
•A bachelor's degree in engineering.
•At least 5 years relevant engineering experience.
•Must have knowledge of assembly, machining, tooling, and sheet metal fabrication.
•A strong mechanical aptitude required. Technical experience in resolving engineering, planning, tooling and assembly problems.
•Experience as a scheduler is a plus.
•Ability to effectively use scheduling tools such as MS Project.
•Familiarity with ERP systems and programs, and ability to effectively use ERP software.
•Knowledge of ERP planning systems, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel.
•Some travel may be required.
•Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
•Must be a US Citizen
