Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify or receive tooling & fixture projects from the manufacturing floor and implement through design or purchase.

Responsible for training programmers to program Mastercam software so they have the latest versions. Program Mastercam files as needed and maintain the Mastercam software and post-processor so programs post correctly for the routers.

Identify improvement projects to increase productivity, throughput, and capacity in the fabrication and paint areas. Manage projects from start to completion with expectation on meeting deadlines and projected project goals.

Support ABS (Kaizen) events with special tooling requests to get groups items they may not be able to get anywhere else. Participate and lead Standard Work, 5S, SMED, TPM, 3P Kaizen events. Validate ideas from Kaizen events.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering

3 - 5 years experience, working knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency in: AutoCAD, ProE, Inventor and Mastercam






PURPOSE OF POSITION;

Responsible for production support by resolving equipment related issues on purchased or in-house manufactured tooling. This includes new product tooling and fixture design, purchase, initial testing, and training of end-user personnel. This position should identify and drive improvement projects needed to enhance and ensure the success of the fabrication and paint areas, and act as high-level technical advisor for the programming Mastercam and other related software. Support for developing or improving routings for products to aid in better part flow through the manufacturing facility.
