Job Description:
Plans and designs manufacturing processes in industrial plant. May report to an executive or a manager.
Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and 5-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Requirements
Seeking a manufacturing engineer to employ world-class engineering solutions and concepts for continuous improvement through demonstrated engineering leadership, with minimal guidance, transforming the organization to next level performance.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: total project management, engineering support for critical manufacturing initiatives, new product introduction, design for manufacturing, and full range of traditional manufacturing assignments including product assembly, facility layout, safety and ergonomic improvements and other related activities.
Must possess mechanical or industrial engineering degree with mechanical aptitude, proven track record for innovation and introduction of new technology, methods and processes to enhance operational effectiveness, with a broad vision of manufacturing excellence.
Experience and capability with continuous improvement (Six Sigma) tools, design for manufacturing, PFMEA, SAP and CAD (AutoCAD, ProE) considered a plus.
Project management tasks related to new product introduction, process improvements and engineering change implementation. Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans. Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements. Facilitates cross-functional project teams consisting of multiple job disciplines. |
