Manufacturing Engineer III
Dura Automotive Systems, a leader in glass systems, structural door modules and exterior trim systems for the global automotive and mass transit industries is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer III for the Lawrenceburg, TN facility.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Designs and implements complex improvements to the manufacturing process, tools, machines, or production design and establishes procedures to ensure maximum manufacturing capability.
•Develops, coordinates and maintains secondary, value added, and specific capital equipment specifications, overseeing design, fabrication or initial run-off of equipment.
•Recommends improvements in methods, equipment or design.
•Provides costs for equipment purchases and seeks options to achieve optimum cost savings.
•Develops and implements programs and processes to improve quality, productivity, safety and cost along with establishing/interpreting process procedures for secondary processes to maintain value added processes.
•Investigates Engineering Changes and acts as an engineering technical support resource.
•Investigates and resolves customer concerns or issues related to product manufacture.
•Coordinates program transfers between Dura divisions, plants and/or competitors.
•Develop FMEA’s and flow charts for new and revised programs.
Requirements:
•BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
•5 to 8 years of related experience. Additional education may be substituted for experience and vice versa.
•Ability to perform senior engineering work and coordinate a variety of engineering duties.
•Knowledge of management practices and policy interpretation to independently evaluate, select, and apply techniques and standards.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function independently and as a part of a team. |
