We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Manufacturing Engineer for our location in Bryan, OH. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for the continuous improvement of the manufacturing process using problem solving tools. This position functions within a plastic injection molding environment. The Manufacturing Engineer must observe safety and security precautions and become familiar with procedures to take in the event problems should arise.

Requirements
The Manufacturing Engineer should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5-7 years of experience in plastics manufacturing. This individual should have experience within the automotive sector, preferably with a plastic injection molding background. This individual should be familiar with problem solving analysis processes and have the ability to lead problem solving teams. Leadership and interpersonal skills are required to interface effectively with our customers, suppliers, and all levels of management. This individual should have experience in design, build and maintaining Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems and circuits. Must possess strong PLC Programming experience with Allen Bradley Controls systems and HMI’s, also familiarity with Vision Systems and Robotic programming and integration. Computer skills with Microsoft Office Products and AutoCAD or 3D design software required.

The following accountabilities are to be performed in accordance with the spirit and philosophy contained in the document, ITW Tomco Mission Statement, and in accordance with company policies:

Review current processes and tooling utilizing production data to determine areas for improvement, recommend changes, enact approved plans, and follow up to determine if the changes were successful. Look for methods of continuous improvement for current programs through reduction of scrap and improvement of product efficiencies.


Work with Project Engineers to bring on line equipment and processes that are well suited to manufacturing product with minimum scrap and downtime. Work with the Engineering group in the review and selection of new secondary equipment builders. Serve as team leader in support of the project engineer position as it pertains to all new launch programs.


Develop and establish standards that meet quoted sequence of operations on new programs.


Provide input to the Design Group to help design secondary equipment that is functional and maintainable. Provide technical support within the business unit to establish and ensure adherence to secondary equipment specifications. Coordinate the revision of secondary equipment that is to be used in a new program application.


Support Manufacturing with the design and build of special jigs and fixtures that may be needed to improve production.


Establish PM schedules and track compliance.


Participate in all sample runs of new programs as it pertains to the business unit.


Troubleshoot and maintain secondary equipment, establish master set-ups where applicable.


Responsible for adherence to company safety and environmental policies, procedures and management systems.


Maintain compliance with ISO/TS 16949 and ISO14001 standards.
