Job Description | Dexter, the premier supplier and manufacturer of axles, doors, venting products, and related components in the utility trailer, recreational vehicle, heavy duty, marine, and manufactured housing markets, has an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer.
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is located at Fremont, IN and reports to the company’s Plant Manager.
Primary responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer include:
· Driving improvements in all related manufacturing processes, including those relating to products, equipment, human interface and product quality.
· Providing technical support for all critical process and product issue resolution.
· Implementing engineering changes as required.
· Prioritizing assignments for the department to meet all plant goals and objectives.
· Collaborating with management and production staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.
· Assisting in implementation of health, safety and equipment projects.
· Specifying, justifying and implementing capital equipment purchases and improvements.
· Participating as a member of the Plant Quality Steering Committee.
· Utilizing process control and capability tools, as well as applying Lean tools and concepts.
Requirements
The Manufacturing Engineer requires a Bachelor’s engineer or a comparable discipline and 3 years of experience in performing same or similar job function; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualifications include:
· Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills
· Ability to manage multiple projects and demands effectively
· Detail orientation and follow through skills
· Proven track record of working well in a team based setting, and strong communication skills
