Cobham is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Junior to join the team in Exeter, NH to develop, implement and maintain methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.

Microwave Components, Exeter manufactures custom microwave components, integrated high performance assemblies and antennas for radar, electronic warfare and communications systems supporting the Aerospace and Defense Industries.
Manufacturing Engineer Junior Responsibilities:
Interfaces with design engineering in the coordination of activities necessary for the release of new products
Estimates manufacturing costs, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements for new or existing product lines
Maintains records and reporting systems necessary for the coordination of manufacturing
operations
Full use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques
· Works on problems of moderate scope and complexity, where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
· Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
Works independently under general supervision. Follows established procedures. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, and overall adequacy and accuracy
Interfacing with manufacturing, quality, and engineering necessary
Traveling to vendors required as necessary
Willing to work a hands-on role on the shop floor
Manufacturing Engineer Junior Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of related experience
Familiar with dip brazing, plating techniques, aluminum machining, torch soldering
Must be mechanically included with hands on mechanical experience working with machinery and products
Must have had exposure to Black belt training (no certifications required)
Familiar with lean techniques
Familiar with AS9100 quality system
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven analytical and root cause analysis capabilities, proven track record of working independently
Able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance
Manufacturing Engineer Junior Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in reporting and analysis and process improvement
Leadership abilities including training and development and project management, team management
Advanced skill in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
Ability to CAD draw own tooling is a plus
Advanced problem solving ability
Strong ERP understanding, inventory management principles
Strong interpersonal skills
