| Job Description | Solutia, Inc., a leading manufacturer of film interlayer products, has immediate opening for a Manufacturing Engineer at its Springfield,MA location.

Major responsibilities for this position include:
Support theSouth Butvarresin manufacturing operations at the IO Plant. Responsibilities include process troubleshooting, process optimization/improvement and improving product quality.
Daily responsibilities focus on the manufacturing operation which includes planning, troubleshooting, Provox assistance, and communication to and from the operators.
Track and analyze downtime for the Asset Effectiveness Management program to identify opportunities and monitor effectiveness of changes.
Coordinate technical activities within the Saflex/Butvar manufacturing operations and interface with the IO PlantESH, Maintenance and Engineering organizations. Serve as the manufacturing representative on capital project development, implementation and start-up teams.
Monthly forecasting and performance tracking of raw material and utility yields. Production relatedSAPtransactions and month end inventory reconciliation.
Major Process Accountabilities:
Work closely with the Manufacturing Supervisor
Provide process troubleshooting
Support new process improvements
Implement cost reduction/capacity projects
AEM/process optimization/SPC
Improve product quality and consistency
On call coverage
Required Experience
Qualification Requirements:
BS in Chemical Engineering
Prior experience in an industrial facility preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to contribute effectively as an individual and within a team
High degree of initiative and ability to plan, prioritize, and work with minimal supervision.
