Position Description
Provides engineering support for manufacturing planning, new process development and new product design for manufacturability. Assists shop floor with troubleshooting product and processing problems. Assists the rest of the Kerk organization with customer specific manufacturing issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read and interpret drawings.
Troubleshoot manufacturing problems and suggest solutions with little to no supervision.
Generate drawings, tool orders and work instructions as needed to support manufacturing.
Specify tooling and process parameters for manufacture of product.
Design fixtures, tools and gauges and have them built.
Occasional use of hand and power tools.
Occasional travel to customer or vendor facilities or trade shows.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to read and interpret drawings.
Proficient in GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
Troubleshooting experience/ability.
Ability to use standard shop floor inspection equipment.
CAD drafting skills.
Experience with standard machining processes such as milling, turning and grinding. Molding experience helpful.
Ability to use Microsoft Office.
Ability to work with vendors and customers.
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree in an engineering discipline plus 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment working as an engineer, technician or draftsman. |
