Job Description
A first tier Long Island Manufacturing Company is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to produce high quality components for industries including Aerospace, Transportation, Architectural and Process Machinery.

Our company produces both custom metal work and manufactures a proprietary product line. The right candidate will be someone who can hit the ground running"". We are looking for a hands on, energetic person who enjoys working on a variety of projects.

Job Summary

Responsible for effectively planning, directing, and coordinating all activities of the
programming/ Engineering department in conjunction with the Manufacturing and Production Planning Department. Validate manufacturing methods and quality planning instructions prior to initiating production process. Supervise the programming staff and qualify the accuracy of work generated in various CAD/CAM systems. Prioritize and allocate programming resources as per the MRP and expediting requirements. Must be proficient in AutoCad, Solidworks assembly & sheet metal and Mastercam. Capability to optimize and generate tool path for CNC Milling. Working knowledge of sheet metal development and fabrication techniques. Manage programming department in the efficient thru put of metal fabrication projects with an error rate <.5%. Program networked CNC equipment; Lasers, Hydraulic Bending Systems (8 axis back gauging) and/or Machining centers. Knowledgeable in drafting disciplines including revision control, geometric tolerance and weld symbols. Awareness of quality management environments such as ISO/AS.

Specific Responsibilities

Manage BOM production scheduling for product lines.

Responsible for accurate and efficient programming of CNC fabrication work centers.

Support estimating with methodizing and process time calculations.

Assist in methodizing and costing of major development projects.

Optimize cost effectiveness of manufacturing methods.

Manage ISO Elements related to programming and quality planning functions.

Review customer supplied data for in-house quality planning, apply Maloya Workmanship
Standards as needed.

Resolve blueprint discrepancies with customers.

Ensure proper scanning / logging of job work order programming sequences completed during each shift.

Determine the computations for flat layout of three dimensional sheet metal parts and reverse engineered components as needed.

Maximize raw material yields through part nesting in CAM software.

Coordinate tooling production and special work center set ups.

To the qualified candidate, we offer an excellent salary commensurate with experience, $50,000-$80,000 annually, plus benefits including medical, dental, paid holidays, vacation and 401k.

Qualifications

Knowledge: BS in mechanical engineering or equivalent manufacturing engineering experience.

Experience: 5+ years’ experience in industrial manufacturing. Background in fabrication and CNC environments. Thorough working knowledge of industrial engineering and ISO methodology. Proficient in CAD/CAM, MRP and MS Office software platforms.

Special Skills: Good administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills. Good mechanical, analytical, and technical skills. Ability to work as an individual contributor or team player.
