We currently have an opportunity at our Amherst, New York facility to join IIMAK as a Manufacturing Engineer.
Position Description:
Plans, designs & implements complex process tooling and equipment.
Develops layouts to optimize process flow within processing, converting and material handling.
Manage large capital projects for capacity and process improvements.
Stays abreast of new technology and implements projects to remain competitive.
Participates on cross functional teams related to manufacturing programs.
Undertakes projects to improve quality, cost and safety.
Provides support to manufacturing in solving complex technical problems.
Instructs others on preparation of SOP’s to define steps/controls for the manufacturing process.
Provides some direction of other engineers/technicians.
Day to day technical leadership/support to assigned production area.
Influential member of commercialization teams for new products.
Assist with investigation, preparation of patent applications to protect IP.
In order to be considered for the position, candidates should possess:
(Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the job)
BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Will consider other related engineering disciplines.
5+ years of related experience in manufacturing environment.
Strong demonstrated design experience preferred.
Demonstrated CAD experience.
Thin film coating and web conveyance and converting experience/knowledge a plus.
Knowledge of equipment/process/system technologies.
Knowledge of engineering principles/theories/formulas/standards/practices.
Analytical & problem solving techniques.
Ability to plan & implement the process of technical projects, justification/management of capital investments and commercialization activities for new products.
Strong communicator with effective interpersonal skills, good judgment and decision making abilities.
Proven computer skills in MS Office Suite. |
