Job Description
Principal Responsibilities:
Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods
Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
Inspects machines and equipment to ensure optimum performance and utilization
Develop and Maintain process documentation based on the quality management system ensuring compliance to ISO9001 standards
Coordinate activities of personnel in inventory, quality control and manufacturing engineering
Analyze and plan work force utilization, workflow; design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
Participate in capital equipment justification, purchase, and implementation.
Required Qualifications:
BS degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Production focused engineering program
Experience in functional, technical and people and/or process management skills
3 to 5 years of experience in Sheet metal manufacturing industry is ideal
Experienced in materials planning and production scheduling
Ability to define problems and collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Prior exposure to applying Lean Manufacturing and initiating Kaizen events a plus
Use of the following tools required: AutoCAD, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Working knowledge of an MRP system such as Syteline, Oracle, Alere
