Manufacturing Engineer
Job summary:
This is a newly created position at NOV Hydra Rig Fort Worth. The selected candidate will be in a leadership position in the development and inprovement of manufacturing processes in addition to implementing and teaching lean principles and techniques.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods and practices in a continual effort to increase
production efficiencies, work safety and improve the quality of our products.
Establish programs for the measurement of labor utilization.
Lead company's lean manufacturing efforts.
Recommend products design changes to improve manufacturability, reduce costs and standardize products.
Solve process problems, initiate solutions and folow up with evaluation of the effectiveness of the changes.
Provide analysis and recommendations for new manufacturing equipment to reduce cost, manuacturing time and to improve quality.
Design specialized tools and fixtures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
4+ years experience in manufacturing engineering of heavy equipment.
Extensive knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing (6 Sigma certification is desirable)
Excellent problem solving capabilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently or to lead a team.
Strong knowledge of welding, hydraulic and mechanical assembly practices.
Good computer skills including Microsoft Office products and AutoCAD. |
