Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Description
Responsibilities will include:
?Work with the engineering team both in Billerica and Chicopee to become an in house expert on the function, assembly, manufacturing, and QC of the Seahorse consumables and instruments.
?Work with the manufacturing team in the production of the Seahorse consumables and instruments while identifying manufacturing issues that may be eliminated through design changes, fixturing, process improvements, and QC protocols.
?Interpret engineering documentation such as procedures, technical documents related to all aspects of the manufacturing process and process control documentation.
?Assist in training of production personnel as it relates to understanding and adhering to processes involving their particular job function.
?Design and develop QC protocols, test procedures, fixturing, and documentation to ensure 100% accuracy of the manufacturing process.
?Work with the design team to implement changes to enhance production capabilities.
?Implement process improvements to achieve cost reductions to ongoing and new manufacturing projects.
?Troubleshoot and repair production equipment involved in cartridge spotting and test fixtures or coordinate repairs with outside techs and or vendors.
?Specify requirements for test equipment and manage the process of tool development, testing, qualification, and implementation.
?Work with management team to ensure production goals are achieved seamlessly.
?Observe all safety requirements in assembly area.
?Have working knowledge of ISO procedures, Quality Policy, and company policies as stated in employee handbook.
?Control cartridge spotting process to detect all non-conforming materials to prevent unintended shipment of cartridges.

Job Requirements:

?Degreed Chemical / Mechanical engineer
?10 years experience in process optimization in a manufacturing facility
?Demonstrated experience in FMEA and DOE to improve process stability
?Proven leader with the ability to handle multiple tasks
?Knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing
?Knowledge of polymers surface properties, adhesion, surface tensions
?Demonstrated process development and documentation of manufacturing
