Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Description
Purpose: To develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and method in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Priorities include process improvement, problem resolution, project management, and employee training.

Responsibilities:

Evaluates manufacturing processes by researching, designing and conducting process analysis; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods, production flow and equipment.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by designing, developing, testing or sourcing, and cost-justifying various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods; analyzing and planning production flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
Prepares product/process analysis reports for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency improvement by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Responsible to organize, prepare for, and conduct APQP meetings as necessary.
Contributes to team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.
Maintains working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication equipment.
Skills:

Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
Ability to operate sheet metal fabrication equipment and hand held tools.
CAD Modeling using Autodesk Inventor.
Sheet Metal Fabrication and Stamping Experience.
Resistance Welding experience
Weld Process experience; including MIG, TIG and Robotic welding.
CAM programming experience for CNC fabrication equipment.
APQP and Continuous Improvement Initiatives.
Strategic thinking.
Communication proficiency.
Teamwork orientation.
Requirements:

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering; or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.
Required experience:

Manufacturing Process Engineer: 3 years
