Manufacturing Automation - Manufacturing Engineer Project I

The Manufacturing Automation department is part of the Terex AWP (Arial Work Platforms) division.
Terex AWP manufacturing facilities are located within the USA and around the world. This position is for our Redmond, Washington facility.

We design, build, and support industrial control systems for tools and machines used in our manufacturing facilities. This group also provides specialized support to each plant in modifying and maintaining existing machines and control systems.


Responsibilities
Job Description:

This position is responsible for all aspects of an automation project from conception to installation and testing. This includes functional design, control component selection, Bill of Material generation, electrical design of interfaces and control enclosures, programming, installation oversight, safety concerns, testing and support. Complete integration often includes understanding and sometimes troubleshooting of the processes that will be controlled. These processes include, but are not limited to, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical and thermal.

The emphasis of work is on PLC programming and electrical circuit design, but also requires experience with VB.NET, and SQL.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required.
- 8+ years of experience in industrial controls, including programming Allen Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix) PLC systems, and using communication protocols such as ControlNet and Ethernet required.
- 5 + years of control system project management experience required.
- 3+ years VB.NET programming experience required.
- Understanding of LEAN concepts/principles is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to design and implement appropriate machine safety.
- Ability to read and create electrical control schematics using AutoCAD.
- Strong troubleshooting skills. Must be able to maintain and support existing automated machines and control systems.
- Must be able to manage work load for multiple projects at once.
- Ability to lead and direct the work of other team members and contractors.
- Must have a proven history of working independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Demonstrated team player and team leader qualities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience with SQL programming desired.
Work hours will be four 10 hour days, Monday - Thursday or Tuesday – Friday. Some occasional overtime and after hours support will be required.
