REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager
STATUS: Exempt
HOURS: Day shift/Flexible

JOB SUMMARY:
Effectively manage plant capital and non-capital engineering related projects. Coordinate project activities with multiple levels of the organization. Develop and implement project direction pertaining to processing, packaging, and facility systems to effectively design productivity improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Develop and implement manufacturing projects related to safety, food safety, productivity, & cost savings.
•Lead cross functional project teams.
•Develop detailed scopes of work for planning and bid purposes.
•Develop and manage Capital Appropriation Requests.
•Train plant personnel on new technology and equipment.
•Develop and execute contractor/supplier contracts and coordinate contractor bid meetings
•Provide effective communication throughout the organization relative to project/initiative work.
•Utilize the CAD system to define and document project layouts.
•Provide technical leadership in the development of new dry bulk material handling/conveying systems and the continuous improvement of existing systems.
•As a dry bulk conveying system subject matter expert, support operational troubleshooting efforts.
•Assume role as plant resource on process flows and equipment integration into manufacturing processes.
•Source new technology and equipment to increase manufacturing productivity.
•Identify and initiate project and operational ideas to enhance plant systems and operations.
•Actively participate on plant safety sub-team.
•Actively participate on teams and support plant continuous improvement initiatives such as TPM, AM, FI, and PM.
•Provide Technical support in plant problem solving and root cause analysis work.

•Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and AutoCAD.



MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
•5+ years in a manufacturing technical role coordinating project activity: food industry experience strongly preferred.
•Prefer individual with experience designing or maintaining dry bulk pneumatic conveying systems.
•Prefer individual with experience in maintenance leadership role with direct supervisory responsibilities.
•Prefer 4 year technical degree or equivalent experience.
