Job Description | Assists with the development and implementation of cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality and safety standards; monitors and analyzes manufacturing processes, methods and controls; and assists with the planning and coordination of new product/program launches including customer driven material qualification programs.
Sets up and/or reviews required bills of materials needed to produce advanced composite materials. Analyzes and troubleshoots processing problems quickly and develops timely resolutions. Provides technical assistance for all manufacturing and test laboratory departments. Creates, monitors, and analyzes results from engineering work orders and test plans in support of activities related to process improvements, process troubleshooting, or new product development.
Requires: B.S. Degree in Chemical, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering plus 6 years (or MS plus 1 year) Manufacturing or Process Engineering experience is required, with specific experience related to advanced materials; Chemical and mechanical characterization including HPLC, FTIR, and Rheology; Characterization of resin/fiber interface; Statistical analysis, design of experiments, Stat-17 analysis software, A and B basis allowables calculations; CMH-17, ASTM and SACMA test methods. |
