| Job Description | Pyrotek Inc. SNIF Systems is in the business of designing and manufacturing refining equipment for the worldwide primary aluminum industry.
We currently have an opening for a full time engineer to perform mechanical design of our capital equipment which we supply to the major aluminum companies. The successful candidate should be able to:
?Under minimum supervision, consult and cooperate with project engineers to obtain necessary historical and operating data required for the design drafting of new products or designs.
?Work from sketches or verbal instructions with wide latitude for independent judgment.
?Originate design layouts of the more complex arrangements typical of development associated with apparatus, equipment and machines taking into consideration functionality, manufacturing cost and appearance.
?Suggest and approve types of material to be used. Contribute to selection of important vendor items.
?Perform strength of material or stress analysis calculations as required.
Knowledge of AutoCad and Autodesk Inventor is required. Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and design of industrial equipment is helpful.
The position is in Elmsford, NY (approximately 30 miles north of Manhattan) and may require some short duration travel to our manufacturing facility in upstate N.Y.
