Job Description | Position Overview:
Work in conjunction with the AMT team to develop manufacturing processes and products, for a next generation Lateral Flow diagnostic product platform. This role will directly impact the platform/product design and the manufacturing process starting as a 100 Million device prototype line with volumes increasing as more assays and product formats are added. Platform and manufacturing process design will support high volume production and low variability process controls.
Major Functions Objectives:
• Create and improve LF manufacturing processes and transfer into manufacturing process.
• Work in conjunction with the R&D scientists to refine manufacturing process to allow the product to be manufactured utilizing a Design For Manufacture (DFM) process. This may result in redesign of fluidics, alternative materials, bonding methods, etc.
• Adapt new device designs into manufacturing processes.
• Investigate new technologies such as micro pillar flow, extruding, rotary ultrasonic bonding, laser marking, laser welding with the object of eliminating variable materials used in manufacturing Lateral Flow products.
Environment / Culture:
• Fast paced and always changing environment.
• Freedom to drive change and structure as you see fit.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, preferably in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience in developing manufacturing process in parallel with device design.
• Experience in design control, and phase gated design control process steps.
•Understanding of manufacturing processes and product flow.
• Experience in designing full manufacturing lines and some product design.
• Experience with manufacturing processes.
• Proficient with SolidWorks.
• Proficient with jig fixture and tooling design.
• Experience with pneumatics, servos, motion controllers |
